It was definitely difficult at work today. The terrible twos are at full force lately.
So today, like any other day, we went for our walk. Right away it started off bad, so I knew we wouldn’t be getting very far. Hes pouting, hes stomping his feet, hes walking with his hand on his hip and his face turned away with his nose in the air (I kid you not). So he decides that he doesn’t want to walk anymore, so I start to carry him back to the house and we see the mail lady. She says ‘hello’ like she always does, asks him what animal he has with him today. And what does he do? He does not say a word. No hi, no smile, wont even look at her. She asks him, “Wheres your smile? Did you loose it? Having a bad day?” Still the kid says nothing. So I say to her, “Maybe if you find it you can put it int he mail box for Nathaniel.” So of course she says she will keep an eye out for it.
We are back in the house and of course he wants to go back outside. He decided he wants to walk more and he will actually walk this time. So back out we go. And here is the mail lady again with her truck right next door and she says “I think I found something you lost, go look over there!” and there on the ground waiting for him is this…
… How sweet is that?! I am pretty sure if we didn’t come back outside, she was going to put it in the mailbox. She really didn’t have to do that, but seriously, its the little things that count… because OH BOY, was he happy. There he was with his smile back. All because of a piece of paper with a happy face on it.
So cute.
